AMN - BURKINA FASO: Exceptional Sanbrado drill results

West African Resources has received bonanza grade diamond drilling results from the M1 deposit at its Sanbrado Gold Project in Burkina Faso. These include the best hole to date in the 2017 program – 21 metres from 408.5 metres at 53.13 g/t gold.

This intersection included  0.5 metres at 1613.41 g/t and 0.5 metres at 530.38 g/t while the same hole also returned 14.5 metres from 459 metres at 38.27 g/t, including 4.5 metres at 104.16 g/t.

The results have extended high-grade mineralisation to more than 350 metres vertically.

Managing director Richard Hyde said, "Five out of six diamond holes this year at M1 South have hit extremely high grades over significant widths which will add to the resource base and have a material impact on project economics.

“It is essential we define the extent of the deposits and maximise the project NPV, before finalising a development strategy and project finance.

“The board has decided to focus on resource and extensional drilling for the remainder of 2017, and will revisit development scenarios in the first half of 2018. The company will complete a resource update in the third quarter of 2017.

“West African currently has six rigs on site double shifting, infilling and extending mineralisation. The company is well-funded to complete all of proposed work programs, with $14 million cash in the bank and over $7.5 million ‘in-the-money’ options.”
