AMN - BURKINA FASO: Tanlouka results continue to impress

Gold developer West African Resources reports further high-grade RC results from the M1 prospect, at its 100%-owned Tanlouka gold project in Burkina Faso.

Highlights:

-       More high grade results from M1 South with 10 metres at 18.33 grams/tonne gold including 1m at 165.14 grams/tonne gold.

-       Latest results outside current resource area, down dip of previous drilling

-       New results to be included in resource update in Q4 2016

-       A$21.5 million cash at bank and no debt

Managing Director Richard Hyde says: “Extensional drilling at M1 South has intercepted mineralisation beneath the current resource area, returning 10 m at 18.33 grams/tonne gold from 172 metres including 1 metre at 165.14 grams/tonne gold. A further zone 50 metres up hole also intercepted high grade mineralisation returning 4 metres at 32.04 grams/tonne gold from 122 metres, including 1 metre at 82.08 grams/tonne gold.

“Drilling is currently focusing on extending mineralisation to 300 metres below surface beneath the current M1 South resource. A further resource updated is expected in Q4, in parallel with completion of feasibility studies for the project.”

Mineral Resource estimates for the Tanlouka Gold Project were completed by independent resource consultant International Resource Solutions and were prepared in accordance with the requirements the 2012 JORC Code and disclosed in accordance with NI 43-101, under which the 2012 JORC Code is acceptable for mineral resource calculation and disclosure.

-       Project mineral resources now 9.8 Mt at 2.1 g/t Au (Indicated) and a further 10.7 Mt at 2.0 g/t Au (Inferred)

-       Maiden M1 South Indicated mineral resource of 290,000 t at 10.3 g/t Au and Inferred mineral resource of 410,000 tonnes at 6.4 grams/tonne gold

-       M1 South structure averages 1600 oz per vertical metre 30m to 130m below surface and remains open along strike and down plunge.
